Turchini per il Sociale

Turchini per il Sociale is a social enterprise operating in the fields of music and the performing arts. It was founded on the initiative of Marco Rossi and Mariafederica Castaldo with the aim of fostering the professional development and growth of artists and musicians—especially from younger generations—by supporting their training and advanced professional development, artistic and personal growth, as well as their promotion and circulation.

The social enterprise has joined several network-based projects with other organizations active in the local area. These projects were positively evaluated in 2024 and are currently in the start-up phase:

• “Tempo Pieno Territoriale”, with Maestri di Strada ONLUS as lead partner, funded by Fondazione con il Sud under the Spazi Aggregativi di Prossimità 2022–SAP call;
• “Io me la CAVO”, with Associazione CORA Napoli EF as lead partner, funded by Fondazione con il Sud under the Evado a lavorare call—supporting the social and employment reintegration of incarcerated people.

Tempo Pieno Territoriale

The project develops the potential of Youth Initiative within the Cantiere Urbano delle trasformazioni educative Ciro Colonna. By Youth Initiative we mean the creative development of grassroots groups that the lead organization and all partners have been nurturing for many years in a highly marginalized area. Participation—understood as the concrete exercise of power gained through education and training—represents the necessary culmination of social empowerment.
The project’s goal is to promote active citizenship among young people completing educational pathways and to guide younger age groups, while simultaneously strengthening the educational community that supports youth citizenship.

Io me la CAVO

Io me la CAVO aims to create employment opportunities for 20 young detainees in partner juvenile detention facilities. The Campania context, particularly fragile in terms of employment, offers limited opportunities—especially when prejudice compounds existing barriers. However, the performing arts sector, including multimedia production and post-production, shows strong employment potential, even in Southern Italy.
Appropriate technical training, combined with individual and group psychological support, will be essential prerequisites for entering the world of technical stage and media professions—fields now deeply shaped by digital technologies. For participants nearing the end of their sentences, the project experiments with a structured pathway toward gradual release, connecting the selection of motivated detainees to goals of sustainability and self-management through tailored training and psychosocial support.
The project seeks to foster empowerment and job placement for 20 young detainees in artistic and multimedia production and post-production through: (a) technical training and (b) individual and group pathways. In this way, Io me la CAVO aims to realize a genuine “second chance,” grounded in autonomy, conflict management, independent financial sustainability, and a reduced risk of reoffending.
