Pia Baldassarre

Born in Naples in 1964, where she currently resides, she obtained her classical high school diploma before graduating in Law with a thesis on the protection of employment in the transfer of journalistic and publishing companies (1988).

She continued her studies both in Italy—earning the title of Specialist in Labor Law from the University of Naples Federico II (thesis on the collective relevance of sexual discrimination and protection techniques, 1992) and a PhD in Comparative Law with a dissertation on wage protection during corporate insolvency (1997)—and in Germany, where she attended the Master’s program in German Law at the Faculty of Law of Humboldt University in Berlin, obtaining the degree of Magister Legum with a thesis on dismissal challenges in employer insolvency (1998).

She has published several articles in specialized legal journals and collective volumes. She has also taught as adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law of Humboldt University of Berlin (1994–2001), at the Faculty of Law of the University of Naples Federico II (2005–2009), and at the Italian Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli (2008–2009).

A lawyer specializing in civil and labor law, she served as bankruptcy trustee at the Court of Naples (2004–2016) and currently works in management and as a legal and corporate consultant. She is fluent in English and German.

She volunteers as a tutor for disadvantaged children at the Church of Santa Maria Egiziaca a Pizzofalcone in Naples. She is married and mother of three children.
