New Teacher Training Courses for the Suzuki Method
The Italian Suzuki Institute promotes new Training Courses qualifying for teaching with the Suzuki Method.
The Training Course for violin, cello, and flute will be held for the first time in NAPLES.
Organization
The full training program includes up to 5 levels, depending on the instrument. Each level requires an average of 120 hours of training, during which the following activities will take place:

study of the philosophical concepts of Maestro Shinichi Suzuki

lectures, seminars, and workshops

group and individual lessons
-
instrumental performance
-
repertoire analysis
-
basic elements of children’s psychological and educational development
-
orchestral practice
-
in-depth study and research on the didactic and organizational aspects of education through music
The training program published by the European Suzuki Association (ESA) can be consulted online at europeansuzuki.org.
At the end of each course, examinations will be held to progress to the next level. Admission to the exam is at the discretion of the Teacher Trainer, who will submit a written evaluation to the examining board based on the candidate’s attendance and the acquisition of the required competencies. Upon passing, an official teaching qualification certificate will be issued.
Those who achieve Level 3 (for courses that extend to 5 levels) receive the “Certificate,” through which the ESA officially recognizes a Suzuki Teacher. For instruments with 5 levels, those who achieve only Levels 1 or 2 may teach exclusively the level they have completed.
An internship period is recommended for Levels 1 and 2 under the supervision of the Teacher Trainer while continuing further studies.
Admission Requirements
For Level 1: applicants must hold an official professional qualification in their instrument (Master’s Degree/Diploma or an equivalent international title).
For subsequent levels: applicants must hold the certificate/diploma issued by the European Suzuki Association (ESA) for the preceding level. They must also be active members of the Italian Suzuki Institute or another European Institute and be up to date with their membership fees.
Application
Candidates for the multi-year Suzuki Teacher Training Course must submit an application to the Italian Suzuki Institute (I.S.I.), including:

a curriculum of studies and teaching experience

a recording (approx. 30 minutes) according to the program indicated below

Auditions may also be arranged by prior agreement with the Teacher Trainer.

Registration
All applicants must complete the online registration form (see “Admission”).
A confirmation email will be sent, including bank details for the payment of a non-refundable deposit of €50. Once registration is finalized, trainees commit to attending the course in its entirety and to paying the full tuition fee. Withdrawing from the course after it has begun does not exempt students from full payment.
Level 1 students must also register as members of the Italian Suzuki Institute (see membership page) and, by extension, of the ESA.
